wKA WORD cHAMPIONSHIPS 2022 wALES
The WKA World Championships were held in Prestatyn Wales on the 31st of October from the 3rd of November 2022. Limerick combat Gym was for the first time included in the 80 strong junior and senior National team that attended the event. After the grueling 3 day tournament Limerick Combat gym’s 9 students came home with 20 plus gold, sliver and bronze medals.
WKO Irish Title fights
December 3rd 2022 , the first WKO sanctioned show in Ireland was held in the Shannon Kombat club. On the card of 16 fights were Sean Barry, Jurgis Augstuma, Matilda Casey, Jake óShea and Jack Lawlor from Limerick Combat Gym. Two of the national belts being fought for were for the super welterweight low kick (Jurgis) and the Super bantam weight low kick (Sean). A great night for LCG with our Jnr fighters all getting their hands raised and to end the evening Jurgis taking out the Irish Number one and claiming the First title, and Sean was in a serious 5 round battle to take home the belt….
